ensemble from Kiev and DelftThe ensemble "Kwitka" is a group of enthusiastic musical friends who engage themselves with the performance of Russian and Ukrainian music, both instrumental and vocal.
"Kwitka" is the Ukrainian word for flower. A flower that symbolizes the natural beauty and colours of the music.
Natural colours that become visible in the different costumes that are worn during the performance
The repertoire shows a wide variety of: - Classical music for the piano and being accompanied by the balalaika.
- Music of the famous Russian, and European composers, and especially composed duo pieces for piano and balalaika.
- Old romances sung by soprano.
- Folksongs, melancholic but also very cheery, and funny songs from the countryside.
- Since 2007 Kwitka also performes classical concerts.
The ensemble "Kwitka" is able to catch you in a professional way from the beginning until the end. For a broad audience it is a pleasure to listen to this group. The group is dressed in original folk costumes which makes the performance very colourful, and attractive.
